I'm Scottish. I ordered a Scottish poster. I'm a geek. I have a "Darmock and Jalad" strip over my fireplace. And yet, today's stip is the first one that's made me want to post in the forums.
Weird.
Anyway, today's strip makes me very, very sad, and I'm on tenterhooks to see what the reason is.

The first thing that came into my mind when I read today's strip was "What's gonna happen to Dante and Emily?!?!?"
You've really got us this time, Dave........

Long time reader of the strip myself, but this is also the strip that prompted me to post in the forums.
Really interested to see how this plot development plays out. Sheldon's a billionaire, so I can't imagine it's something as simple as not being able to afford the house. So what's the reason for the move?
(Heck, perhaps it's a desperate ploy to flee from the disaster zone that is Li'l Butter?)
And yes, I laughed at the fact that Arthur still gets called just "Duck".

Whoah, whoah, WHOAH, Dave! What the heck's going on here? Sheldon came to live with gramps because (supposedly) his parent died a tragic and untimely death. It is probably the only home Sheldon really knows (yes, I know Sheldon is not real, doesn't matter).
Gramps has not expressed a sudden major flaw in the home like a total termite infestation, nor melancholy so bad he has to move or go insane. Sheldon's enormous wealth and the fact that Gramps has likely had the home paid off for a decade or two makes money not the issue.
You really have me hooked this time, worse than when Oso went missing on his exciting adventure. Props to you but don't DO this to a fellow who has seen too many of his favorite strips either die or go into syndication and be taken over by suits. Ease us into sudden major plot changes! ;-)

So, the plot thickens.
We once had that sort of a conundrum. Our "dream" house finally came on the market after I had retired. We'd looked at it from the outside so many times. We rushed to the open house and were disappointed. As often happens, the dream was better than the reality. Inside it was all wrong for us. Besides, by then, our house had become home. We had made improvements to it and remodeled it until it suited us.The minor scars in the woodwork from our children running around the house were still in view, and each elicited a memory. Each improvement we had made recalled happy times together working on them and minor disasters overcome. So we packed in our dream and stayed put where we were happy.

This is really hitting close to home, mostly because of the bit with Gramp trying to ring their doorbell and ask. My father passed away at the beginning of this last summer after a long battle with cancer- and a house he'd desperately waited for went on the market the next day.
Dave's found a nice heart-string to pluck- I'll definitely be coming back to see what happens. :)

I just want to give Gramps a great big hug. I can't help it. This is definitely one of those situations where I have to remind myself, "You can't give him a hug, because he's a fictional character," and that's the only thing that helps me feel better about not being there to give him a hug.

I have found a nice house to go to, but any tips about how to plan, organise, moving items and deal with the stress of this would be great, thank you.
